Has anybody here tried this:

My black tank valve is a bit sticky.

if only the valves were that accessible! many of them are buried up under the underbelly where you can't see them, let alone access them. I have tried to put some silicon oil on the portion of the shaft that has the handle on it and exercise it hoping the oil will get inside and lubricate the shaft / cable. marginal to no improvement.

I agree can't get to my Forest River Cedar creek due that it's in the underbelly.

Mine are accessible, just below the coroplast belly cover. That's why this is an option for me if it works well. I'm just wondering if anybody here has tried this.

I know there is a liquid drain valve lubricant that Thetford sells but this would be cheaper and you could re-do it as often as needed.

This guy recommends canola oil.

Haven't tried it myself, but I intend to try it.

Well, I was able to try this method this week to lubricate the black tank dump valve. The straw on my lithium spray lube can disappeared so I just used silicone spray lube inside and on the plunger. It does work better but not as good as new like I was hoping. I’ll try it again next dump and make sure I can use lithium spray lube. If that doesn’t get it operating like new I’ll just replace the valve. Fortunately my dump valves are below the coroplast underbelly cover so they’re easy to access.

On some RV's the handle you see is connected to a cable which is connected to the actual valve located up under the under belly stuff. The cable is a wire housed within a tightly wound spring. This is where the problem is at times, the wire within the housing gets rusty. My previous TT has this happen and I had to remove the under belly covering which was like thin corrugated aluminum. Removing the cables, taking them apart, cleaning them and lubing them worked wonders. There was also an abundance of cable to each valve also, like six (6) feet of cable when there was only three (3) feet needed. I shortened the cables so that they were more of a straight run from the handle to the valve and all of that together made me happy.
