More precise tank sensors?
Our Sunseeker's tank sensors are in 1/3 capacity increments. Is is possible and/or advisable to upgrade to something more precise (e.g. 1/4 capacity increments)? If anyone has done this mod (or decided against it) I'd love your input!

It may not be pretty replacing them depending on your access to the tank but look into seeLevel tank sensors from Garnet. Rvupgrades carries them.
You need to know how tall your tanks are and you can steal existing wiring but it is expensive. Provides readings in percentage increments. You would want something that covers grey black and fresh water tanks right? May need different sensors for each.

SeeLevel II or something similar. The sensors are placed on the outside of the tanks. Display reads zero to 99%. But as I recall it really reads in about 5% increments. I just cut the wires off the in tank sensors and used them for the new sensors. Then at the control panel moved the wires from the factory display to the new display. As a plus got the system with digital battery voltage monitor so I could tell charge level of the battery .

Thanks Larry and Dan!
We will be combining the grey and black tanks (swapping out the regular toilet for a Nature's Head composting toilet) so the sensors would be for the fresh tank and the combined now-grey-only tanks. We'll look into the SeeLevel monitors.

You can also install Horst Probes (Search the forum for several installs documented with photos).
They are very accurate and are direct replacements for the easily contaminated buttons. I would used black tank shielded probes even in the gray tanks because hair and soap may foul the spiral type.
You can reposition them on the tank to provide a more accurate 1/3 2/3 full if you wish; just leave the old buttons in place and drill new holes exactly where you want them and move the wires.
Just remember that "levelness" effects the readings. A tilt to the tank can cause the associated probe to "indicate" and can even cause you to BE full even when there is actually more room in the tank.

Don't understand that. That's like swapping indoor plumbing for an outhouse.

More often more often than not, we do not have full hookups and often we only have electricity. And sometimes not even that. So the SeeLevel II Sensors from Garnett are worth their weight in gold! The 1/3-2/3-Full sensors not only do not give you much discrimination but also the sensors are usually very poorly placed so you show full when you aren't even close. On my black tank, the full sensor was two inches from the top of the tank.

The Horst (now Valtrerra - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1) probes can be places where ever you want them. Just leave the old ones in place and drill new holes where you want them to be located; then move the wires.
