My bathtub is all of a sudden draining slow
I have a 2004 Forest River Wildcat and the bathtub recently started draining slow. Now when I take a shower, I am standing in a ton of water. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure the grey tank associated with the shower is draining when you open the drain valve? I know someone that had the same issue anbd didn't know that there was a seperate grey tank drain valve for it.

If it is truly a slow drain due to crap in the drain (like hair) then this stuff is the best. Just pour a cup or two down and let it sit over night. Look for it at your local hardware store. It comes in a zip lock bag so it is easy to spot.

I'd just open the access and remove the trap for inspection and cleaning. However, first try a little trick to see if your tank is vapor locking due to a vent issue. Open your grey tank to CG sewer before you take a shower. If it drains fine then, your issue is venting and not related to gunk in the trap.

I'm guessing that the bathroom sink is connected to the same tank. Fill the sink up and then let it go. If it drains fine your shower trap is probably plugged. If it's slow too, than I would suspect some kind of venting issue.

OK I will try that. The carpet in front of my bathroom sink is actually getting wet and under the sink is as well. I have cannot figure out for the life of me where that is coming from. I have sat with a flashlight with the water running and cant find anything. My kitchen sink did that a few weeks ago and then it just stopped on its own. That was gonna be my next thread after I took pics.

Look for the vent/vacuum breaker under the bathroom cabinet. Ours leaked but drained down the pipes to the garage. Should be 2 white braided hoses.

Ok this is what I have under the bathroom sink. The vent is clogged with hair I can see from the outside of the cabinet. Could this be my problem? I dont see how?

Vent/vacuum breaker should be at the end of the 2 white tubes.

I'm not sure what your referring to. Are you referring to this in my basement? The couplers are also under the sink. The tube from the sink to the shelve seems a bit damp but i don't see water.

Those look like hot & cold water lines, I'd tighten them. Mine has a hot & cold and had 2 white braided hoses with the vent/vacuum breaker at the ends which is removed and ran the input directly to the black tank and eliminated 10' of hose and the leaking vent/vacuum breaker. Looks like yours is different.

We use a mixture of vinegar and baking soda to dissolve the hair routinely.

if you can buy pipe cleaners, from the smoke shop you might be able to stick it down and pull some of the hair back out.

The baking soda/vinegar mixture fixed most of the problem. It still doesn't drain as quick as it should but another dose of the mixture should fix it. I cant figure out for the life of me how to get the top off over the drain. I don't see a screw and when I turn it it doesn't come off.
