Nautilus Water Management System Winterizize

Would like to hear from those that have winterized in the past using the Nautilus Winterize Valves and any issues you have or have not had with this system. I am just a little weary that some water may be left behind since there are no bypass valves on the back of the Hot Water Heater.

Follow the directions in the P1 manual but add a couple of steps. Drain the HW tank and put the plug back in. Configure the P1 to the City Water and blow out all of the lines with a compressor including the low point drains. After that take out the HW plug and make sure all water is purged from the system. If you follow the rest of the P1 manual steps (including placing some of the valves in the 45 degree position) and add your antifreeze you should be OK. Also don't forget to turn around the screen filter in the water input to allow for the antifreeze to pump into the system. Btw the red valve is the HW bypass.

As Zoom said just follow the directions step by step and you should not have a problem. This was my second time to put my Cardinal in sleep mode and do not think that any problems will raise its head in the spring. Maybe one of these days we will follow the warm weather snow birds and avoid the cold temps.

Didn't see anything about turning the screen filter around. Appears that the antifreeze made it to all the fixtures, low point drains, and water filter housing. Any idea why the screen filter should be turned around. Thanks Again for your feedback.

Turning the screen around opens the valve that prevents back flow. This may or may not be needed.
