Buy Calgon Water Softener & More | drugstore.com

There are other places as well.

Calgon Water Softener has a chemical that coats the walls of the tank making it "slick" and stuff is reluctant to stick to it. Tank flushes cleaner.

The Laundry (or dish wash) soap is to help keep crud in suspension.

The 3-5 gallons of water in the black tank keeps solids moving around so it never gets a chance to pile up.

NEVER use anything with FABRIC softener. It is a wax that coats the walls of the tank and makes your sensors unreliable.

Also a great black streak remover when used in a spray bottle.

I strictly use geo-method.
Been using Geo-method for years. I've never used any bleach in either grey or black tanks. Our WalMart carries the liquid Calgon.

Don't think Calgon, Dawn & bleach will blow up, but with the drop in paks of other chemicals, who knows??

Nothing will blow up but the danger comes when bleach is mixed with a cleaning product that contains ammonia. A very poisonous gas can be produced.

Bleach will kill the enzymes in the septic dump system. Do not use bleach in the black tank. It will not help in draining the tank.

No Bleach and Cleansers

Many years ago my mother was cleaning the bathroom and thought that mixing bleach and vanish cleanser would make the job easier. Not a good idea the combination released chlorine gas, and made her ill, ( thank God not dead ), so use caution when mixing bleach and other cleaners.
