New to RV world and my toilet doesn't work....HELP!
Hi All,
Just bought my first RV so my wife and I can finally take a vacation.
Bought a 2011 Forest River Class C 31' Sunseeker and just connected water to it yesterday and everything works except the toilet. When you touch the peddle a little bit for the bowl to fill, one tiny stream of water drizzles out. Not enough to fill a dixie cup. I called Colton RV where I purchased the coach and the guy told me it "should work fine" and to follow the water line to make sure there is no valve. Followed the line as best I could and found no valve.
Totally new to RV's so not sure what the problem could be.
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I have to winterize very soon here in Buffalo NY.

My guess is it's a pinched or blocked line. Try following the line as best you can and see if there's any obvious issues. As mentioned my guess is if there's a blockage it would be near/at the valve on the toilet.
Good news is if you need to winterize and worry about it in the spring you should be ok to do so as long as there's some water coming out.
mTn biKer65, Thank you, I will check for a pinched line. If the water supply line is not pinched is it possible for the line to develop a blockage inside the line?
Follow the line up to the valve on the toilet. Shut off water and bleed off pressure. Remove line at valve and look for a screen going into the valve. I have scene a screen get plugged up with trash. If possible while line is off valve, get a container and try flushing out the line. If you have good flow and pressure. Problem must be in the flush valve.
The answer from Colton RV sound normal for them. They could not spot the problems in a brand new unit either. PDI was very poor to say the least.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Just as you all suggested it turned out that the screen on the flush valve was totally blocked with grit.
It appears the previous owner had well water or a very gritty water supply.
I removed and cleaned the flush valve and flushed the supply line which was full of dirty water.
The toilet works like a champ now.
All your replies and help is greatly appreciated !!!!

Make sure you clean the screens in the facets also. Might have to clean the filter screens a couple times when you start using it.

That's were a full system water filter keeps things clean and working properly by keeping all the trash out of the lines. There's a favorite CG we go to but they have well water with a lot of sand in it that will stop up our water filter over a week of camping. Without a filter our lines would be full of sand. I'd filer the water before it enters your rv, it will save you some headaches down the road.
This condition is caused by draining the hot water heater through the low point drains and not closing the bypass valves when removing the anode during winterizing.
Bits of anode and calcium nodules (normally present in any water heater) are drawn into the cold water pipe located at the bottom of the water heater tank. When the system is re-pressurized, this crud can then be forced into the toilet flush valve and/or faucet valve body(s).

mud_yapster, You read my mind. I was wondering if there was a way to filter the supply water because it looks as though the previous owner had well water as you pointed out.
I was going to look into filters this weekend.....any suggestions?

That picture is pretty common of junk coming out, that's why they recommend a flush to clean all that out. I do not drain my H/W through the low points drains and I also by pass my w/h before I put my homemade wand in it to remove the crud built up from the anode rod.

I use a disposable filter on my fill hose.
It can also remain attached when filling the Fresh water tank.
