no hot water

This is for my friend, not a forest river. It's a 2005 keystone Everest rk. One day he had hot water, the next, nothing. Turn in hot water and get a splash, then it just stops. I think it's the check valve in the hot supply coming out if the wh. Not sure how to get it out though. If we turned the brass adapter, the whole fitting turns, which concerned us a bit. Looking for advice as his keystone forum is slow....always lots of good help here!
Thanks!
Joel

I'll try and get a picture tonight. Any ideas if it's not a check valve?

Still no sink, but another thing I just thought of....it's a single valve bypass do guessing that's why there's a check valve? All I know is when you look in the hot water supply coming out of the wh, you see a white plastic disk.

Hmmm. Looks like we need to pull the fitting and see about replacing out...er ahh, guess my buddy can figure it out from here cause I'm going camping! Friends are friends, but were talking camping.

So check valve became a bypass valve eh? That style is not uncommon but 3 valves is most popular. Good hunting Doc!

Yup, I always wondered how the single valve bypass worked. Lucky for my buddy, I'm a great boss so he and I had to run to the nearest town with a RV parts store today. I needed a few things for work from a big box store so thought he could drive and help carry stuff .

He should be joining me at the campground tonight.
