Levers
Nice job, but if you had just replaced the round knobs with levers, there would have been no more confusion. Or, if you knew where to get one, you could have replaced your cold side stem/cartridge with a hot side stem/cartridge and kept the knobs.
All round, knob-type faucets should have RH (hot side) stems/cartridges on both the hot side and the cold side, which turn on counterclockwise and off clockwise. All lever and cross handle faucets should have RH (hot side) and LH (cold side) stems/cartridges which turn on and off opposite of each other.
Most of these round, knob-type shower faucets in RVs are set up with stems/cartridges for lever-type faucets, so the cold side turns opposite to how it should. In some cases you can just rotate the stem/cartridge 180 degrees in the valve body, but most of the time, you can’t.
Since the beginning of time, for all two-handle faucets, all of the round, knob-type faucets utilize two hot side stems/cartridges and all of the lever and cross handle faucets utilize one RH hot side stem/cartridge and one LH cold side stem/cartridge.
I have always wondered why the RV industry hasn’t worked this out.
