No water to ice maker

We have a Sierra 371REBH and we have the French door residential with the lower freezer drawer. Our ice maker hasn't worked since last fall since the line was always froze up this winter. It's finally warm out and it's not working. I reset the ice maker and reset the fridge. Still no water to the ice mold. Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Could be lots of reasons. Are we to assume that you did not winterize and the line stopped working since it froze? If that is true and you have water and pressure in the rig, the first question is "is it leaking somewhere?" If you also have a water dispenser in the door, does that work? Virtually all residential reefers have a solenoid valve on the back of the unit that connects to the water system with a 1/4" plastic tube. If you also have a water dispenser, that is a double valve.

On most installations there also is a valve that turns that on and off where it taps off of the main PEX cold water line. If you never turned that off then it should still be on.

In my experience, if the reefer solenoid valve freezes it generally develops cracks and then simply sprays water until it is replaced. (Don't ask how I know that.) You can get a replacement at most appliance parts stores and it is easy to replace...if you can manage to get to it.

1) Make sure that the icemaker is turned on (switch or wire bale)
2) Verify water pressure on rig
3) verify water pressure to 1/4" reefer water line
4) Verify no leaks anywhere

When you finish this with no joy, it is probably the valve itself, but I would bet that it is leaking. In fact, even when leaking most of these valves continue to function.

This is a standard appliance problem and not RV specific.

Good luck.

We live in our 5er full time. Been in it since June. No leaking from the line to the fridge.

I'll show hubby your post to have him check.
