Oh the Smell

Own a 2015 Sandpiper 30IOK

I am getting a very bad sewer smell through my camper when I am flushing the tank. No issues any other time such as flushing the toilet, just when I hook the hose up to the tank flush and run it.

After reading through smelly stories on here, I realize the vent at the top can cause issues, toilets domestic 300(where would I find the model), back flow valve and fantastic fan being on while flushing.

Ultimately I guess the issue may be me needing to clean the tank better, but something seems off. Thoughts?

Checked the items listed and already had the 310 toilet and checked the connections and all were tight but found the picture posted. Fairly certain the hole in the black tank vent pipe is my issue. Will show this to the dealer but already started the fix on my own. Click image for larger version

Wait a minute.. did someone install solar panels on the roof? They look like MC4 cables.

I had a roof top winegard satellite installed which is one of the cables, rg6. At first I thought they did it but only one cable is theirs, the other I think is the antenna but will need to check more.

Either way the guy installing it should have known something was off. There should not be a one inch hole in the stink vent. I mean methane has leaking into where you sleep.

Have applied the first layer of silicone patching, will build it up to a solid seal, if I thought it could be taken out and made right without tearing the place apart I would do it. I am more comfortable/satisfied with my own fix.

Actually with a better look, one is the rg6 and one is the power for the dish. This was not a factory job, all dish install job.

Maybe I am wrong but I do not think this is right.

I think a lot more then people know. There are actual videos and instructions on how to do it this way but they do not cut a hole in the pipe. They place a tee in the pipe and a screw on end that is actually designed to run the cable through.
