onboard filter vs external water filter

It is a pain to change the filters on the this cottage and I am thinking about placing an in-line filter just down from the city water connection.

Any wisdom to share on this subject?

Very common modification. I use both because the well water at home and at some of the parks we go to has a high iron content so the external one that I use (100micron) removes that for me while the better filter within the trailer (1 micron) does the rest of the job.

However, others just use an external filter. Make sure that it filters what you want, though.

As triguy said most or some external filters are 100 micron at best. Which if you look at the chart does very little.
I run a 5 micron internal and no outside filter with no issues.

Either way is fine.
