My pressure reducer stays on the trailer. The filter in on the camp hose pib and hose is in the middle.

Typically I see Spigot->Pressure Regulator->Hose->Filter->Trailer

Due to the way my hose routes on the new rig, when I used it for the first time last weekend I had to go Spigot->Pressure Regulator->Filter->Hose->Trailer.

Really though, it doesn't make a big difference overall. As long as you have all parts in line between the spigot and the trailer. The only real difference is that the regulated pressure is downstream of the regulator. Most parks, I've found there's not usually high enough pressure to really worry about needing to protect the hose, but I'll also typically see if it seems to be high pressure when I flush the spigot for a second before hooking up.

Thanks for the tip. This forum is awesome for everyday ideas that might not occur to me. And yes, I put the regulator and filter at the spigot mainly to minimize the weight where the hose screws into the city water.

Anything you might want to protect from the CG's high pressure needs to be downstream of the regulator.

Nothing wrong with putting the regulator on the trailer, but it means that your hose, filter, and anything else is exposed to the high pressure. I've seen pictures of ballooned hoses. Water hoses are only ~$15 at Walmart, but I think it's just as easy to put the regulator at the spigot.

As for the filter, I'd want it to be at the end of the line. I don't want to filter water, then run that water down a hose, and then drink it. I'd rather run the water down the hose, filter it, and drink it. The closest you can get the filter to the point of use, the better.

With pressure regulators.... it depends.

Always use it unless the campground already has one on the spigot OR the campground tells you that they have low water pressure. If you use the pressure regulator with low water pressure, you probably won't have pressure inside the trailer.

It should be the first connection on the spigot or you risk rupturing your hose or water filter. Friend ruptured a hose that way.

Your campers lined are protected. But the day you hit high pressure and split the filter, that bay will be full of water.
I'd be tempted at least to swap the regulator and filter around.

Spigot -> Filter -> Zero G hose (love that light-weight, flexible hose for storage) -> Pressure regulator - > Trailer.
