Agreed. Bottled water is a stupid approach.

And if some only knew what the water went through before being pumped into those plastic drinking bottles.... I'm guessing many have never seen the inside of a water treatment plant or the inside of a broken water main.

"Stupid" is a little harsh. To each his/her own. I have no issues with folks
buying bottled water. I do hope they recycle the bottles...
Our only issue with our RV water system is the 2 or 3 times the hot water went sour because I didn't drain it... that was on me.

Happy Trails!

Ever since our nephew and his wife became our house sitters we seem to be burning up the hwy. We use our FW like we are at home. But I am picky about fill sources.

OK, the problem has been solved! I sanitized the system today and followed the instructions of letting the bleach sit in all the lines and tank for three hours. After flushing the entire system again the water taste is normal. The plastic taste is gone

Thanks everybody for the help . . .

Not to high jack the thread but we have the same issue with our city Water. Have an outside filter and tried two different hoses and ran A LOT of water through it with no improvement. Plastic tastes so strong we can't even make coffee with it. Any suggestions?

No, only after coming out of the faucet in the camper. Same problem at every campground we have been to.

Sounds like your hose. What kind do you have? The white ones seem to have the least taste. I have a white and blue fresh potable water hoses and I can taste rubber in the blue one. Especially if it has sat in the sun for a few hours. Then I let the water run for a while. We don't drink the water. Have a 5 gal Home Depot jug that we fill at home, and refill as needed.

What's it like coming OUT of the hose? We've had a bunch of reorts here the blue hoses give a very plastic smell/taste.

If it's OK coming out of the hose, it has to be something in your camper's plumbing.

To be honest I haven't tried the Water out of the hose. But I have the same taste issues with two different white hoses, even tried putting bleach through the hose and it didn't help. I'm going to try to figure out a way to sanitize the city Water side.

Make sure the hose is empty, hook it to city, pour bleach into hose, hook to faucet and turn the water on.
