No Black Dumping on site

I perform this function too and am amazed at the extra "stuff" that I see come out. I do this at least three times when packing up while DW takes care of packing the inside.

We just completed a long trip and I learned that I have to empty the Black about every two days (Guess we are using lots of water).

We are going on a 4 day trip and the Campground has a rule. Dumping Grey is ok on site, but Black must be done at their dump station.

When I asked what people do with long term stays, their reply was people either move their rig to empty the tank at the station or use a portable dump cart.

I don't want to buy the dump cart and I really don't want to pack up the rig just to empty the tank.

Any strategies we could use to get through the 4 days without having to dump in the middle of the trip yet still use the proper amount of water to get the job done?

Thanks!
Ron

I'd find another campground if they do not have a bathroom facility you could use instead of your own. If I had to go to the trouble of buttoning up my rig and hooking up just to go dump, I'd be off to another destination. And those totes are just a PITA.

How big is your black tank? Ours is 50 gallons and we find it lasts us easily 7 to 10 days with normal use for 2 of us, 3 weeks+ if we are boondocking and watching our fluids more closely.

Yes, find a campground that has sewer dump on each site. 2days? That's not a lot of water. That's using too much water when flushing the commode. You should dump the black tank when it's close to full.

There is a RID-X product intended for RV use, but be mindful that is more for "longer" periods than just a couple days - it is a bacteria + enzyme treatment that works just like a residential septic tank.

We like to just use ours, that's why we use the TT to push the TV around in the first place. When we are on longer trips or boondocking, then yeah, #1 out in the woods etc.

If one wanted to really power flush things ... hey, you have a portable water heater in most RV's that have a Toilet ... bring along a 5-gallon bucket ... a single 5-gallon pour would help move a lot of things along ... let the hot water soak ... check in at a casino campground or other full hook up ... hook up and open up and then repeat with another 5 gallons.
X2 on the RID-X! We use it religiously during the camping season. We keep a 1/4 cup concentration of it in the BT with about 10-15 gallons of fresh water after a dump. People will argue that that the BT is not a septic tank. Well if you don't maintain it, you will have the same problem as you would with a septic tank. Hence this thread. We save the Dawn for washing dishes, and the ice for the cooler and cocktails.

Enzymes, or bacteria need time to feed on the poo. At the end of each season I put some in the tank so it'll have plenty of time to feed on the banquet, if it's present. During the season I use plenty of water.

We will be gone 4-5 days at a time and our rig has a 35 gallon capacity on the black tank and it is more than adequate for me and the DW. I would not rely on what your tank sensors say as they are not accurate and will give false readings.

I am really surprised they would allow grey dumping at the site. Most parks we stay in do not. Unfortunately if you don't want to use a cart or pack up you will have to use water management. There are usually three of us and we can make it easily 4 days. That is filling two sinks while doing dishes, one for wash and clear for rinse. We take showers at the shower house and only use a short flush for the potty and sink in the bathroom for washing hands.

Please provide the name and location of this CG so I can put it on the list of CG's not to stay at.
