Potable water tank filling up

Each time we hook to water source in a camp ground the potable water tank also fills up is there any way to by pass the potable tank. 2012 19 foot minilite forest river

Theres a check valve or flapper valve that prevents this. Looks like yours is not working.

where would the check valve most likely be located

The check valve in your water pump needs to be replaced.

I had the same problem this spring. I took the pump apart and cleaned the check valve. There was a couple of small bits of plastic in it. I put it back together and it still leaked. So I contacted Shurflo and the pump was still in warranty so they send me a new pump head. I installed it and no more problems! If your pump is relatively easy to access the repair is very simple.
