My orange black flush hose has it's own regulator. This after I let the full pressure go into the black tank flush port once. Afterwards I had water dripping from the pack flow preventer area under the bath sink. I'm thinking all the plumbing is the same type so it all needs to be protected

I added a backflow preventer to my Y as a precaution in case of backflow.

For years, I've used a white hose for city water, and a blue one for flushing my black water tank. They were both labeled for potable water when I bought them, but it's easy to tell which one I'm using for my black water tank cleaning [emoji16]

I see no reason for a pressure regulator for flushing as it will never be holding pressure like the inside plumbing

But a pressure regulator won't solve this dilemma.

My bh's job is to keep an eye on the level and knock on the wall to get my attention. That seems to work most of the time, but we've had a close call now and then. I used to time how long it took to fill the bw tank. That generally seemed to work. But different cgs have different pressures so she always was a helper.

Or was it "she opened the toilet valve and that's when it hit the fanny".

I have never used a pressure regulator when flushing the black tank, it simply restricts the flow to much.
To keep an eye on the amount of water pumped into the tank I bought this about a year ago and really like it better than using the stopwatch on my phone.

I bought two a couple years ago!
One to use when flushing the black tank.
Another to use when adding/filling the fresh water tank.
They work well.

I ordered one of those from Walmart.com ($16) a couple of months ago for pickup in the local store.
I've used it on my fresh water tank, but haven't on my flush valve.
As for using a regulator on the flush...nope!

From working in Industrial Waste Management for years the first thought that comes to my mind in regards to using a water hose for black tank flushing is: I would not use a water hose to feed water to a black tank flush unless I also had a Back Flow Prevention Valve (BPV), sometimes called a Back Flow Prevention Device (BPD) valve installed. There is a chance that while using a water hose connected to the black tank flush connector on you RV, TT, 5-er, that the water supply could drop pressure. Another IF: If your hose that goes into the black tank goes in so as to be below the water level at any point and the supply water pressure drops they you would have a siphoning effect which could draw water from the black tank into the water supply piping causing contamination. The BPD's can be found small that would work carrying it with you in an RV and don't cost that much. My opinion on the regulator: For black tank flushing I would not want to regulate the water pressure. I would want as much pressure and volume as I could get. Just my 2 cents

I know it didn't come from Walmart, but was ordered on the Walmart website and delivered to my local (at the time) Walmart store!
Free delivery to the store...$6 shipping to my door!
Probably cost me $1 in gas to go pick it up...plus I got some needed groceries while I was there.
To me that was a no brainer!
