Problems with water pump?

I have a 2014 Shasta Oasis. Filled the fresh water tank until water ran out. Gauge indicates full. Water pump works until about 8 to 10 gallons used and then pump stays running. Thought tank was empty so I filled. It didn't take long to full so I emptied the tanks and there was about 12 to 15 gallons in the tote. When I filled the pump quit running. It has now done the same thing the second time. Any suggestions what might be the problem?

Levelness and discharge port location will determine how much "unusable" water is left in the fresh tank.

This is my 5th wheel tank and (even though almost level) you can see the fill tube will stop filling and the tank indicator will only read 2/3 full (yet it will not take additional water without bulging the tank).

The good news is that in this position a good portion of the water "is usable."

Tilted the opposite way, the top of the water outlet will suck air while a good amount of the water will be "unusable." However with this tilt, the tank can be completely filled.

Problems with water pump?

We have a surveyor cadet and if yours is like ours the outlet to the pump was way too high. We could only use a little over half the tank. I capped off the original outlet, then integrated it with the drain on the bottom and we can use every last drop now.

Hi I do not travel with my TT. I only use the water pump to winterize.I have a 2011 Surveyor Select 264. There is a small constant drip from the pump. I keep a dish under it and empty the water leaking. Where is the water coming from I do not use the Fresh Water Tank I use city water and have a water regulator attached to hose.

Is your city and FW tank different connections or the same?

Your line from the pump is pressurized from the city water inlet and is stopped from entering the tank by a one way valve. If you don't use the tank, disconnect the pump and plug the pipe.

The check valve being referred to is inside the water pump. Most likely trash has entered the pump during winterizing and has fouled it.

You can try freeing it by putting water into the fresh tank and running the pump (with city water disconnected) allowing the water to flush out any trash internal to the pump.

Options for repair also include repair or replacement of the water pump and adding another check valve between the pump and the water "T"
