I have gotten an adapter to use the compressed air method to winterize and if I don't get the pump working before the freeze, I'll just blow out the lines, pour in the antifreeze and disconnect the lines to the pump and the toilet valve to try to make sure any remaining water flows out. If you still can't get the pump to draw antifreeze after trying Still Kickin's suggestion, and you want to get some antifreeze in the plumbing, might I make a suggestion?
Since you mentioned maybe having help and the ability to being able to blow out your system, simply fill your water hose with antifreeze, attach the hose to the city water connection, attach the blow out plug to the other end of the hose and 'blow' antifreeze in.
It might take a few times of refilling the hose but you'd have peace of mind you have some pink stuff in there.
It's just a thought if you determine the pump is shot and you decide to wait until dewinterizing to replace it.
