Pure Water cover over filter

Bad luck, checked the water filter and found the plastic cover in three pieces. Must not have by-passed it when I put the anti freeze in last fall. Can't get one locally and ordering one would take a week or two. I thought I could by-pass the filter, but, when I turn the two knobs, water will come out when the pump is turned on. We have a Windjammer 3006. is there a simple way to by-pass the filter so we can use water. Thanks for your replies.
Currently camping at Quetico Provincial Park.

Go to Home depot or Lowes and buy a length of Pex pipe (1/2 inch?)and two fittings the same size as the water filter body connections.

Remove filter body.
Put one fitting on the Pex and thread it in/on one end where the filter body was measure, cut the Pex so you have enough room for the second fitting.

Be sure you snug the fittings well, test for leaks, a towel on the floor to catch any drips.

Actually, nothing could be much simpler than the process recommended above to permanently remove a troublesome filter. Just do it and replace it with an exterior filter----problem solved!!!!!

PS- it's not Rocket Science to do this "mod"

Yes it's simple, but, I don't have access to any parts. My water filter is fine, I just need a new cover.
