ROO Water filter

I just bought my 2011 ROO 233s and was looking for the water filter. I was planning on by-passing it to avoid failure. I found a water pur unit installed instead of the glass filter I expected to find. Model CCI-10-CLW anyone have any input on this filter? TIA

My old 2008 Shamrock 183 had the CCI filter housing and was leak and issue free when I traded it in for my current 2015. I don't recall reading any complaints about the CCI unit.
My current RV came with the KW filter and this is the one I see complaints about although I've had no issues.
Google Waterpur and you'll find the CCI filters a lot cheaper than the KW filters.

It's the FR1 assembly I believe and it's KW1 element that I have read about some failures with. That is the one I have.

You are right, Kris, I misspoke. My filter canister is the FR1 and the filter itself is the KW1. The FR1 is the one people complain about but as I mentioned above, I've had no issues unless I've just cursed myself.

I'm keeping my FR1 until I have to change the element, then changing out whole unit. No way I'm paying Waterpure or whoever makes it the 30+ bucks for a new filter element. I've got a great place they can stick their proprietary BS filter element.
