Secondary Monitor Panel

Having experienced the siphon effect while filling fresh water tank, I thought it would be a good idea to have a secondary monitor panel mounted near the fresh water fill in the basement in a Silverback 33IK 5'er. Really only need fresh water, but doubt if that is available. Any issue with putting another panel in parallel? Does it have to be the same manufacturer? Any other things I should be on the lookout for? I also plan on putting in another switch for the water pump in the same location - wonder why FR never thought to do that either . . .

Dont see any reason a parallel panel wouldnt work. shouldnt have to be same manufacturer as long as its compatible with whatever device(s) are in the tank. I agree that would be a nice factory option! Though mine i can usually hear pretty well through the vent as long as theirs not too much noise out, itll gurgle for a few minutes before it starts spitting water out.


As for the pump, maybe its just me, i cant see any reason i would want/need a pump switch down there? If anything maybe set it up on a timer relay so it cant be left on unintentionally. it would really suck to have some kind of water issue inside and the switch inside is overridden by the outside switch, so your running all over the place trying to shut it off while everyone is screaming

Thanks for the reply, On a previous TT I had, it had a switch built in to the outdoor shower. Very convenient. Since the bay on the 5er has everything there, including hot water bypass and anti-freeze suction line, it would be easier than having to go back in to turn pump off/on.

I found a switch that was put in the small compartment on the service side of our new VLite 30WKFSS that is marked "water pump". Operating the switch does nothing that I can observe yet. It does have wires connected to it, but, haven't taken time yet to pursue this further.

Oddly, it is also with the input for the black tank flush adjacent to the fresh water intake.
