sensor for Fresh water Tank

WE are new to Travel Trailer Camping, and now we are working on the problems with our trailer. Can someone tell me how you can check the fill sensor for the fresh water tank. I don't think it is working.

It would help if you provided year, make and model of trailer you have.

I just got a 2005 Cherokee and went to sanitize the water system before we head out to dry camp. The fill line to the tank was dry rotted from lack of use but when I was under the trailer I notice the wire from the low level sensor to the wiring harness was broken, check this out it is a very thin exposed wire and it may be the problem the wire is white it is located under the sink side of the unit forward of the tires. Hope this helps
