Sewer Gate Valves

As part of this years spring maintenance I grease my sewer gate valves and they are sooooooo smooth now. They had been tough to open and close; valves were sticky just at the start of opening and just at closing, now they slide so smooth and easy. I have always greased the shaft on the handle but this time I took a very long pair of hemostats with a cotton ball full of O-ring grease, opened the valve and went up the pipe to grease where the valve seats. I don’t know how long it will stay smooth and easy but I think I will add this to my Spring Maintenance. I was just dumping and cleaning from our last trip so both tanks were completely empty.(I always backflush clean water and work these valves to be sure they are clean but they needed extra help)
might help
