Sewer hose and equipment

We recently got our 5th wheel Cardinal from a couple and it didn't come with the sewer hose, hose support or any other item required for that process. I certainly understand why.

I'm looking on Amazon and see a lot of different types of hoses and supports. From the Comco RihnoFlex 39761, Comco 39625 2 piece kit, to other brands.

This is our first camper with this kind of need so I'd like to get ya'lls opinion. Do I need to get 15 or 20 foot unit? Is there a brand better then another? Does the plastic hose support work ok? Any lessons learned that might help would be appreciated. I don't want any surpprises if you know what I mean.

Here’s my sewer hose mod.
It’s from Lippert & ran $180.
I have a 15’ Rhinoextreme hose in it. (You can use any kind you want)
I keep another 5’ spare hose & coupler in the rear bumper.

Dave, when you say "a 15’ Rhinoextreme hose in it." do you mean the hose is inside the hard black plastic tube that's after the flex tube?

How is it sealed in the tube? Where did you get it? I didn't find any info on the lci1 wbesite.

Correct, the hose goes inside.

The hard plastic tube “the boom” & flex tube make up the Sewer Mgt System.
The system is not available retail. I had my local RV dealer order it from Lippert. Had the dealer install it for about another $100 while the rig was in for inspection. The flex tube section is removable & that’s how you connect the sewer hose itself.
You could fit 20’ in the boom but I already had the 15’ Rhinoextreme hose & a 5’ hunk from a previous damaged hose.
I’ve never found the need to pull out the spare 5’ hose, yet.

Thanks for the info. It sure looks very convenient. Anything that makes "that part" of the TT less of a headache I'm all for it.

I have the RhinoFlex 15' hose and really like it. I recently brought an 5' extension hose just in case I come close to not having enough hose again. How much hose you will need will depend on the campground layout. I do use the plastic hose support and besides keeping the hose off the ground I feels it helps with the draining.

I keep my sewer hose inside a long plastic bin in the storage compartment. I do like the ideas that other posters have shared but I opted for cheap and easy for now.

I got the Rhino Flex 15 from Amazon and highly recommend it. I keep it in a large rectangular plastic milk crate and place it in the bed of my truck when transporting it. I just make sure to run plenty of grey water through it to Prevent drips in the truck bed. It's long enough for my needs but I also keep an extra 5 feet in my bumper. I would also recommend a clear coupler to place before the hose on your dump valve. Let's you know when your tank is truly clean.

Gaspeddler - I like the idea on the clear coupler. Does it stay on the pipe from the trailer or does it need to be removed?

No, you would want to remove and store it. Here's a pic... I got mine at Walmart but there are many suppliers. Cost is about $25.

I leave mine on the camper. Just put the cap from the camper on the end of the clear adapter. As long as it doesn't stick out, which mine does not.

I have the RhinoFlex (purchased from local Walmart) and it is the best hose I have ever owned.

I have the 20 foot hose and a different color hose for the wash out part of the chore. Too much is better than not enough especially if trying to hook up when its getting darl out.
What is disgusting was to watch some campers take the hose they hook up for the black water tank rinse and spray it off right next to the water lines since most water and sewer lines are in the same area at campgrounds.
Its why next year I'll take some bleach along in a bottle to rinse off the tap real good.
The management system linked is looking good as well.
I often wondered about someone in a road side parking lot walking by and pulling the cap and handle to get that last bit onto the pavement being a smart a##.
