Sewer Hoses

The Camco Rhino seems to be the favorite or most popular ! I purchased the 27RLWS TT. I'd like a clear elbow so that I can monitor my tank when dumping. Would you suggest the 45 degree or 90 degree elbow?

Thanks

I have one of each, the one I use depends on the location of the hole from the FW when parked.

If your using the elbow where it comes off the RV I believe a 45 would be best. Less resistance to the flow. If you want it just before it enters the sewer I would also go with a 45 on its side before it goes into the 90 going into the sewer. I'd lay on its side to keep the fluid from having to go uphill as much as possible before entering the sewer I hope that makes since. I've tried it both ways and have settled on the first option.

Agree with others have both 45 and 90, also have a straight. Have never had to use the 90.

Yes the Rhino is well worth the money, very durable, plus folds down to a nice manageable size to store. You may want to invest in 1 or 2 5ft extension pieces as well. Have only needed them a couple times but some campsites have the sewer drain set far enough back making the regular 15 ft just a tad short.

I have a straight and a 45 deg. I prefer the 45 deg. fitting (it's a Rhino fitting) but it leaked the first time I used it so I haven't used it since. I wouldn't bother with a 90 deg. bend. Always use it at the RV tank outlet, not at the other end.

Could the rubber seal be missing or not in place correctly?

I also have the Rhino, seems to be a good hose. For my trailer, the sewer outlet is too low for a 90 to be practical, so I use a 45. As others have recommended, have some extra sewer hose on hand just in case. I have the standard 15 footer and a 10 foot extension.

I agree with everyone else, I have both, frosted not clear... All depends on the hookup.

The seal was in place but it still leaked. Mine is a clear 45 deg. bend, not opaque like in your picture. I'll have to check it again when we get the TT out in the Spring. The Rhino hoses are good quality so I was very disappointed that their fitting leaked.

I posted that for the seal IMG.

I am sure it is a bother when things do not work like they should, I hope it is fixable.

Did the seal at the connection leak or the fitting that connects the the hose to the coupling? I had a Rhino hose leak at the hose connection. What I found was that the locking ring was tight, but the hose was not screwed up into the Rhino coupling before the locking ring was tightened, after doing that it no longer leaked. I checked both hoses and found that each one was able to be tightened further into the coupling.

I don't recall exactly. I got the fitting in 2014 and didn't use it at all in 2015. I did figure out this year how the hose and end couplers connect together on the Rhino hoses so I'll have to take them apart to make sure the hose is on fully. Thanks for the tip.

We have a 45 like the one that home brew posted and use it for our 27rlws. You can point it down or toward the back if the sewer connection on the lot is toward the back. A 45 would point it toward the ground and be to low to turn out.
