Shower Fixture Mounting

Due to a leak recently, we removed the shower fixture housing in our 2012 8 month old CC. As we were putting it back on, we noticed it was extremely easy to strip the mounting hole. As a matter of fact, it looks like the dealer or the factory were already on the third set of holes for mounting.
I'm concerned that when we put in the 4th set within the first year, we'll run out of space to mount the cover in short time. Any ideas on how to prevent this from happening or to cover any holes (that will look finished, not just some sealant covering the mistakes) that may be exposed as we run out of room in the future? We do not have any access panel behind the shower.
