Do you mean the gray water tank??

I know they generally aren't supported very well from the underneath.........

it is the gray water tank for the shower only. i dumped the tank before we left the campground but it still had about 5 gallons in it. the tank sits inside pieces of angle iron on each side(front to back) no side to side straps.

If you mean the tank is only supported on the short ends and nothing
on the long sides, that sounds bad.
Mine is supported along the LONG sides. (I think!)
Now I'm gonna go look.
I know my last trailer was!

I just looked. My tanks have angle iron all along
the long sides.
If you only have support on the ends, they need to
add new supports or you will loose your tank(s) again!!

the tank is supported on the long edge of the tank. the longer part of the tank goes front to back. my black water tank sits next to the gray tank on the right side. im hoping there is not another underlying issue. it was 2yrs old when i bought it.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. This is an accident I have always feared. I always try to travel with empty tanks, just a little fresh water for the emergency rest room stop. I know the tanks are supposed to be supported well, but it just takes one poorly tightened bolt or missed anchor to give less support than needed. A good weld or metal shop should be able to add some re-enforcement for you. Our 5ver underbelly is covered, so I have no idea how our tanks are supported. I may do a little exploratory work now.
