Shower valve connection

My shower hose attaches to the TOP of the wall mounted valve assembly. This places stress on the poor little hose (any of them) as it bends downward. I'm assuming the valve assembly is attached to the pex lines like the lav. and sink are and can be simply removed and turned over to hang the hose downward.

Question is: is there a secret valve inside that doing this will cause a problem?

Due to difference in DW and I in altitude, I added a wall mounted adjustable shower holder and will be going with another hose anyway.

"Vacuum breaker" would be the secret part I'm concerned about. I see both styles for sale, so, why would FR use one to collapse the hose?

Amish Plumber

Amish built it upside down? No wonder the awning won't extend!
