Sos... lol dometic 300 toilet

I just wanted to touch base with you folks, our toilet is clogged andi read an article about using hot water to break it up. The black tank gage shows empty still so it is not backed up... I think my dear wife in her tummy trouble used to much tp... and yes it is rv tp... will the hot water hurt anything? I just don't want to be a newbie an take advice from a random blog and make it worse.

Thanks

I don't know that hot water would hurt anything, but I also don't know if it would help. We had grandkids staying with us once and had the same issue.

I found a sure cure that I keep in the "underbelly" now every time we go out - it's a "power plunger" - KISSLER & CO 57-2000 Plunger, Plastic, Fits Most Toilets - Walmart.com

I don't believe there is anything it could hurt by just using hot water.

Depending on how much is in the tank and how much boiling hot water you plan on using the one thing to remember is plastic will swell/expand when hot.

Tanks are not very thick and can warp.

Hot water like from the water heater might be a better option.

A spray wand on a hose might work to break it up

Water, lots of it is the toilet and black tanks best friend.

Step lightly on the pedal and let it fill up.
