Stiff faucet spigot.

We just bought a new-to-us Puma 27FQ and took it out this weekend for our first trip. My wife complained about how stiff the kitchen faucet spigot is to change from pouring into one sink to the other. The faucet is plastic, and it feels like the plastic spigot is sitting really tight on a rubber gasket. It can be moved from side-to-side, but requires a great deal of effort and feels like it might break if you're not careful. Is this just the way they are, or is there something I can adjust or loosen? I looked under the sink, and it appears that I would have to remove the whole faucet mechanism from the sink to see how it is put together. Any ideas? Thanks!

Try taking it apart and lubing with Danco Silicone Grease. Works great for taking the squeak out of the plastic faucets also.

Thank you dunnnc, that totally fixed it!

I had to grab the collar on the sink spigot and loosen and remove the collar and spigot from the fixture. Absolutely no reason to get underneath the sink at all. The spigot itself then came directly up and out of the fixture. There were two rubber gaskets on the spigot where it entered the fixture. I lubed up the gaskets with the silicone plumbers grease and put it back together and it now works flawlessly!

Time to the hardware store to find plumbers grease: 30 minutes

Time in the trailer applying the grease: 5 minutes

Absolutely worth the time and effort!

Glad it worked for you. That silicone grease will also take the squeak out of the plastic hot & cold valves. Our hot water faucets have squeaked in everyone of our campers and it cured them all.

Thanks for the hint...mine squeak as well and I've been thinking of replacing the faucet...this is a much less expensive option!

You bet it is cheaper, $3.37 and it's enough to fix at least 100 faucets.

Both fausets in our 06 Cherokee squeeked like a banchee after a couple years of trying different fixes I found some much nicer fausets and replaced them both total time mabey 20 mins each
