Supposed to drop to 29 degrees tonight for a couple hours -- should I run antifreeze?

Depending on which forecast I look at, it could dip to around 29 deg from 0500-0700 tomorrow morning. Trying to decide if I should head to the storage lot and run antifreeze through my trailer. My concern is any trace amounts of water from this weekend that are in the shower heads or faucets could freeze and crack the plastic.

Should I bother? I would absolutely HATE myself if I don't do it and end up with a leak. It seems like it should only take me ~15 minutes to bypass the water heater, remove the water filter, connect a jug of antifreeze to the antifreeze inlet, and run the pump until each faucet/toilet runs pink. Should I also drain the hot water heater, or is there no way it could freeze?

If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it. It'd have to get to the mid 20's for more than a couple hours to hurt much. Think of your home freezer. At 0-, you can put a bottle of water in for a couple hours before it would freeze solid.
jmo though.

I hear ya, although its not a glassful amount of water I'm worried about -- it's the little bit that could be trapped in a shower head that makes me nervous. I just don't know enough to know whether I should be worried or not.

It it would give you peace of mind why not go ahead and run antifreeze throught the unit? Might be the only way you will be able to sleep tonight.

I wouldn't worry about it. Its not going to freeze long enough to bring the temperature down to freezing inside the trailer. It would have to get alot colder than that and for a longer duration before you would have to worry.

for such a short cold spell I would not worry, when this happens to me I just open the low point drains and leave all faucets open, never had a problem

I went ahead and did it. lol

One question -- does the water pump run with less power when running off battery? It did a good job of sucking antifreeze out of the jug and through the lines, but I noticed with the outdoor shower in particular that the water pressure was very low. The pump also seemed quieter than when I was running it off 30amp shore power this past weekend.

Lightbulb

Would it not be easier to turn the furnace on and set it for about 50 degrees for the night? Battery would keep it going as it won't run often or long.

I like that idea, but would that prevent freezing in the lines under the belly, or the outdoor shower head?

In all honesty it only took me 15 min to bypass and drain the heater, then suction antifreeze through the lines and out each faucet. Guess I shouldn't stress over it next time.
