Surging Water Pressure

I didn't have the surging water pump issue until I installed a new showerhead, today. The one that came with my trailer seemed to dribble, even when the taps were wide open and the pump running full blast. I put the Oxygenics in today and now I get the surge.

Basically, the new shower head uses less water than the old dribbler, so the pump doesn't need to run as much. Even using less water, the new head feels like it has more pressure. To make it stop surging you have to make the pump run full time. To do that, you need more water demand. When I turned the sink on very slightly at the same time as the shower, the surging stopped.

If the only faucet that causes the surging is the shower then the problem is in the valve body of the shower. Take it apart and clean out the valve body.

If all faucets surge; then it is in the water pump. The pressure regulator is built into the water pump. It could be that it has calcium buildup in it (as did your old shower head).

Three ways to fix this.

1) rebuild pump assembly
2) replace pump
3) install a surge tank like:
