Tank Values

Why does the black tank have 2 values?

A photo would be good. My rig only has 1 valve.

You sure 1 of those valves doesn't go to your gray tank ??

You have a 54 gallon grey tank which should be for galley and shower. You have a 30 gallon black tank which should be for poo. (Sometimes Forest River has the bathroom sink going in the black tank, not sure about yours.)
Since you have two valves, one is black, the other grey.
Hope this helps.
Jack
PS, your fresh water tank is 48 gallons.

I have a valve for grey and 1 for black and also one underneath on the black side. I tried to upload a photo from my phone but it wouldn't go. I'll try again later.

My other forest river trailer (sandpiper) had two valves inline on the black tank, which I thought was a great idea for redundancy.
Have seen a few times the black valve leaking on other rigs.

General rule, gray handle is for a gray tank. On our Sierra we have 3 gray tanks and 2 black, by draining one and checking the monitor, then the other you should be able to determine the tank to monitor number. One is most likely the bath, the other is most likely the galley. The tanks are usually in the general proximity of the service area so looking at there location or the general plumbing direction if you have an enclosed bottom should give you a general idea of which one is which.

I agree with camper_Lucy. The 2 small lines on either side are probably grey tanks, and the big line in the middle is probably the black tank. I don't see a valve on the black tank, though.

We have 3 tanks, black, grey & galley. The black & grey (shower & lav sink) tanks have separate valves but share a common outlet. The galley tank is a separate valve/outlet. The black/grey outlet is easily accessible (ahead of the axles on the road side) at all times, but the galley outlet (behind the axles on the road side) is a bit of a challenge with the slide extended.
