Thank you

I am new to Rv-ing, obviously from my posts. Big shout out to Wmbike for posting the water pipe diagram.
I picked up my 2018 FR3 30 this past May and after the first trip , the tiny filter in the toilet water valve would clog with calcium from heavy California water. I found a lot (like a sandy beach) of calcium inside the water heater when I inspected it and flushed out. I couldnt figure out how the calcium created by hot/heated water would clog the filter all the way in the toilet. The sinks and shower head work fine. An RV repair guy scolded me and said there was no way calcium from water heater could make it to toilet because hot and cold water lines dont mix.
I put an in-line water filter (easy to clean and dont have to remove toilet) in the water line to the toilet and no more problems.
After reading Wmbike's post with the daigram I decided to check my lines. Yep. The knob was turned so the lines were in 'by-pass' mode! That explains how the calcium made it to the toilet. I didnt know, being the newbie, but am very pissed at the dealer (Mike Thompson-Fountain Valley) for not catching it even on the walk through when they pointed out everything and explained its function.
Anyway thank you all for your patience for all newbies with silly, obvious questions.

I'd like to give proper credit but we don't appear to have a user by that name.

Did you perhaps mean wmtire?

Camper, glad you got it sorted out.
On a side note, did you research Mike Thompson before you bought? I went to the Colton location and couldn't believe how slimy their sales staff were and their service reviews are worse than Camping World. The amount of BS and wrong info from the sales staff was amazing.

Yes, I did research them and saw the Colton store (sales and especially service depts.) are horrible. The FV store was better. Not as many negative reviews.
I met my sales guy (Brian Monti) through work and both he and the finance guy were great.
They bend over backward to make the sale, then you're just a number. I bought it in May then took it in for a few minor warranty issues in July. Most were fixed but not all. I took the coach back for a trip in August even though the drivers window frame pulled off. I called them every two weeks for months and it was always a different story. Someone else forgot to order it or whatever.
Just a slimy feeling going in there.
