To sanitize or not to sanitize, that is the question

I purchased my TT from the dealer with about a full tank of fresh water. When I got it home about a month ago, I ended up draining all of the water because I don't intend to use it. I'm planning on staying at full hook ups only this year with only a few actual road trips and nothing totally remote.

So do I need to sanitize the fresh water tank? I wouldn't be using it until next year when I possibly might make a trip to the mountains. I know that by sanitizing and running some of the bleach water through the lines like the kitchen sink and bathroom faucet would possibly be beneficial to get rid of any germs, but is this step something I should absolutely do or not? I buy a new house and I don't sanitize the lines before using the water. That's my line of thinking here... Am I right?

I would sanitize. This will sanitize all of the lines and help clean any crap out that may have gotten in during manufacturing. You also never know if the water supply goes out at your site you may need to fill the holding tank so you will have it sanitized already. You don't want to risk stomach problems from an unsanitized system. You should sanitize at least a couple times a year to be sure there is no build up of mold, mildew or algae.

Sanitize it if tank is still full 1/4 cup of Clorox to a tank full of water, let it set for a day then run it through all the lines to flush the lines that don't get city water. Then drain excess or use the water if you don't want to waste it.
