Toilet seal

The bowl on my toilet is not holding water anymore, is it easy to change the seal? What do I need to do?

If you are going to pull the toilet to repair the wet seal you should read this thread. My DH LOVES the hand wand (for filling the bowl for #2 and for washing it afterwards) Saves a TON of water when boondocking.

Have you tried pouring some olive oil in the toilet to saturate the seal? Don't use anything petroleum based on the seal. If you post the make and model of your toilet, I may have parts from my last trailer that I will give you for the price of shipping. Need to know what you have....

Mine wasn't holding the water either. I bought a seal kit and got ready for the repair. At the last minute I cleaned it real well and did the lubricant. It's been working perfectly for 6 months now.

Well bob I've been busy, I don't live online. But it seems that the seal is now holding water.

I don't have a life so I'm on here all the time. Glad to hear it's holding water!

Bob, you're not alone!

After my wife decided we needed a small travel trailer, I am spending a LOT of my available time on-line reading, reading, reading (and occasionally commenting).

The rig is in the driveway, and my garage door is almost always open with tools at the ready, to accomplish "the projects". I have a pencil-written list, and a bunch of things are getting crossed off, but a lot of things are getting added, too. Some by her, most by me as a result of reading here.

Amazing what others have done to "mod" their RVs, and I've found soooo many things that I'd like to do.

So, I guess that I, too, have no life.

What a life! I wouldn't trade it!
