Toilet Shut Off Valve Install

I want to install an emergency water shut off valve to the toilet in my TT.. I went to the HW store to buy a valve that would install / crimp in the braided nylon line connecting to the toilet. They did not carry any valve that would work with hose crimp barbs on each end.. I then asked somebody that repairs RV's about this. He said he would remove the trim board (A) on the floor that covers the PEX/Crimp junction, cut off the PEX to crimp 90 degree fitting and install a Sharkbite valve on the PEX.. I do not even know how much PEX is under the board?? from there he said it should be simple to connect the toilet to the valve using off the shelf toilet hoses.. THIS DOES NOT SEEM SIMPLE TO ME! How would you do it? Pictures show what I am looking at.. Thanks

Toilet Shut Off Valve Install

Why not stop at a hardware store getting a barbed quest or pex valve, and crimp rings like they used. That's how I did a manual valve on my city water connection, as a precaution of a bad check valve. Been there for 3 years no issues. If you have the room, you could also get a grey quest 1/2" valve, and screw on at the inlet of the toilet, and screw line onto it. Just a couple of thoughts.

Amazon under $7 (I guessed at your line size and picked 3/8Ē. Your line could very well be 1/2Ē)

OCSParts MTLB-6 3/8" Brass Barb x Barb Ball Valve, Lead Free, 0.1875" ID https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072MZDND8..._uIcmBb24CFCHP

And here are the clamps. You will however need the tool for the clamps.
Oetiker 16700016 Stepless Ear Clamp, One Ear, Clamp ID Range 13.2 mm (Closed) - 15.7 mm (Open) (Pack of 10) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZJFWAHM..._hLcmBbYCXKKV7

Or they have a no name brand kit that comes with an assortment and the tool.
WGCD 80 PCS Stainless Steel Single Ear Hose Clamps with Ear Clamp Pincer Kit, 7-21mm https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078B9D3M7..._UNcmBbJXTR319

Hope it helps

Wont'work on PEX,

The worm gear clamp won't generate enough pressure to seal the connections.

What you want is a Pex 1/2" ball valve, available at any plumbing supply house and a couple of crimps to connect it. Rent the crimper at any rental yard.

Or you could use a "shark Bite" ball valve and no need for crimps or crimper.

In that case you can use a 1/2" Pex ball valve and the worm gear clamps.
