Toilet Stopped Up

Is it ok to plunge an RV toilet like you would a residential toilet?

I would guess so.
What model and brand do you have.
Mine is a straight line drop only way for it to get plugged is if the black tank is full.

Is the black tank full? Our toilet is a straight drop to the black tank and should not be able to stop up.

Just dumped the tank - Not sure if mine is a straight drop or not. I think I will gently try it...

Turn off the water to the toilet.
Hold the flush lever down/open.
Look down the hole with a flashlight.
You will be able to see if the tank is empty.

I know you said that you just dumped the black tank but did it actually empty? If id did not empty there could be a blockage at the valve.

How did it happen? I don't know, but mine was plugged recently, and the tank was not full. I used a stick, pushed it into the plug, and it cleared it out. Worked for me.

Is it just a coincidence that there are more than the usual amount of posts about clogged/stopped up toilets the day after the big Thanksgiving meal or not?

Pure conjecture, I'm almost certain of it....

That is why I never use a stick on the ground, to roast a marshmallow! You never know where that stick has been !! Yes, a plunger works in a R.V. toilet.
