There might be something in the groove in the seal, the one the blade slides into as it closes. This can cause the blade to not seat properly. Take a piece of bent wire and run it around the grove, with the blade open. Be gentle so as not to tear the seal.

The rubber, if it is like mine is just rolled into a groove that is formed in the toilet, I actually have had the same thing happen, a pair of rubber gloves and someone else holding the pedal down and it will go right back in place with a little hand manipulation. I figured out that the problem I was having was the rubber was dry and hanging on the slider part. I got some rubber safe lubricant like is used in food service, such as when installing o rings in a soft serve ice cream machine and every couple weeks I put a little on my gloved finger and open the flap and run my gloved finger around the rubber where the flapper slides and it has been fine every since, and flushes great,,, Did I say wear GLOVES
