Bought our Wildcat Maxx 24RG TT in January and have been using the heck out of it. Love this thing. Last two trips we've experienced a clogged toilet with water (and stuff) not draining down into the tank. Looking down into the drain it looks to be clogged with TP. Luckily we had purchased what I like to call the "dookie wand" and the rotating stream of water cleared the clog on both occasions. In thinking back, the only change we've made all year is going to Kirkland (Costco) TP which states it is "septic safe" but is obviously much thicker than the RV/Marine TP we'd been using prior to the clogs. Anyone agree that I'm on the right investigative path with this or should I be looking at something else? BTW, we have the black tank rinse and have had to do numerous rinses and tank flushes to get the TP out..."big" clods of it sliding past the clear 45 on the way to the sewer with the Kirkland brand.

P.S. I may be exaggerating the amount of TP since we both try to be super conservative with its use in the TT.

Start with about 5 gallons of water in the black tank so the TP breaks down quicker. And yes, septic safe TP is fine. We been using Angel Soft for years and have never had a problem.

x2 on the 5 gallons of water in the black tank. Flushing the toilet with lots of water will help too.

We just went through some black tank clogging issues of our own Davidceder, and did an investigation to determine the cause. Turns out that the Camco 2-ply "RV/Marine Safe" TP that we had been using was the culprit, yielding results similar to "RV Friendly" #3 from the link that you provided. I strongly suggest that Forum readers do their own TPT when trying a new brand, and thus avoid the kind of adventure that we experienced.

Clogging generally has one of two causes. wrong TP, or not enough water per flush. Both can cause long term problems.

Use more water. It doesn't matter what type TP you use. The black tank is a storage tank, not a septic tank. Just use more water.

water, water and more water... with a bit of water softener (search Geo-Method).

We use Charmin Ultra. I typically dump roughly 5 gallons of water with bleach, detergent and water softener mixed up into the black tank before we head out on a trip. I usually will have to dump the tanks a couple of times in between, but try to do it when we are at a full hookup site so I can run the black tank flush. I have done it this way for years and have never had a problem.

Very possible that more water helps flush the wrong TP. Since this is the first time we've ever had such problems, I'll continue to use a product that dissolves easily. Thanks to the Forum for all the suggestions.
