Two sewer connections

Ok..just bought a a Flagstaff 831RESS.. it has two sewer connections..trying to imagine how this would work on a full hook up site or even best way to dump at a dump station...would appreciate any tips

One is probably your Gray water (Shower, sink) and the other your black water (Toilet)

We got a Camco Rhinoflex with a "Y" connector from Amazon - works great! When you are ready to dump, you dump the black water and then flush the sewer out with the water from the grey tank.

(BTW, NEVER leave the black water valve open when you are hooked to a sewer - it WILL cause problems! Just "Dump" your black tank when it gets above 1/2 full or so)

I have two on my Sabre and bought an "Y", and have 4 - 10' sections of sewer hose. I've been at many full hook up sites, but have yet to use the Y, as it's not too much work to switch locations with the same hose if needed.

Have the same setup 1 black and 1 gray together (toilet and shower) and 1 gray for kitchen sink . Same as the others have said 2 sections of hose a Y then another section of hose to the dump pipe. Not a big issue just more hose than most have to carry. Kitchen sink won't use much water by itself, tank would probably take a full week to fill.

The bath and a half is nice BUT NOT worth the hassle of the dreaded Y connection, I don’t use it unless we’re going to be there for more than a week!

2. hhhmmm at this time I can’t think of a #2.

I just hard plumbed the rear to the front, added a slide valve and use one hose to dump all 3 tanks. No fuss and don't have to carry extra Y's hoses, altho I do carry 4 hoses (some folks(FT Turbs) found out at the Goshen rally their hoses were too short)

Thanks for the replies...didn't know their were y connections..that's good to know..I think I'll at least start out with the one connection(the toilet and shower) and just switch connections to drain the other gray tank(kitchen) since from what was said it takes longer to fill the galley tank

I'm surprised to read that people think the "Y" is too much work. I'm much too lazy to move hoses. I set everything up once with hoses and the "Y" and then I don't have to futz with anything after that. If we're camping for just a weekend, I may forego the "Y" and just move the sewer hose, but even then- I usually just plug it in because it's just an extra fitting and extra hose.

Being an older person, I don't like crawling around on my knees under the slide to pull the slide open. Much easier to just to spend a couple of hrs and about $25 and hard plumb the rear tank to the front. Permanent fix to a dumb design that FR should take into consideration.

I have seen the pics of OC's tank mod. I think I will try and do it on my rig when the weather warms.

The problem is that OC just very matter-of-fact like says "I did this" and makes it sound simple. Those of us who are mere mortals and not quite as handy will have more difficulty.

Now that I think about it,the galley tank is under the slide..I'm not Into crawling myself...your idea does make sence oldcoot,but I'm a horrible Plummer ...and your right...FR needs to address it

Sir, I am just a mere mortal also, but I do have the stubbornness to "Correct some design flaws" and have been lucky enough to acquire some tools and knowledge over the last 50+ yrs to do just about what I want to do. It might take me several attempts to get it the way I want it, but being retired I have the time. Just have to get the "gumption" to do it.

All depends on how they build them. My 831FKBSS has the two grey tanks plumbed together with a single handle right next to the black handle.

On my kitchen sink gray tank I use a garden hose and connect it to the 90 degree fitting that enters the CG septic. You need a short female to female adapter. This has worked fine for us for 3 seasons.

As said before, just hard plumb them together and forget it. One hose, 2 or 3 tanks empty. No pain, no strain. $25 and a couple hours work and it's a permanent fix.
