Typical RV Bath tub design?

Just wondering if the tubs typically in RVs are built similar to those in houses, with a lip the extends up from the top edge, so that the tub surround comes over top of it? Mine is not siliconed and not sure if I need to - no silicone would lead it to breath and keep moisture out (I think) if there is a lip.. If there is no lip, no silicone would be a sure way (I think) to water leaking in behind and rotting the walls...

From the little that I know, they're the same and many manufacturers recommend against caulking it for the reason that you mentioned.

X2. During our PDI I asked the service tech about caulking the bottom and he advised against it.
