Hi- I am replacing my Suburban SW6P water heater with a SW6D. The old one is a manual ignition and has no wires to it. The new SW6D needs to be wired in to a switch with two negative ground wires and a positive 12v wire. I have a Salem LE (T22FBLE).
There are various ways I can run the wires to it. The easiest is from underneath the trailer connecting to the heater wires or the water pump wires.
Any suggestions on where to run the wires from?
Does anyone know how this would be wired from the factory?
No matter how you wire it I feel it would be far and away better than the factory's.
I would suggest you try and find some inside power leads to use.
If you can not then be sure to use rubber grommets where you out or in s wall or floor.
Use some wire loom or conduit to protect the wire along with some of these wire holders.

I decided to connect it to the converter, I have an extra 15amp fuse position.
Is 15amps too high?
The last issue I have is installing the switch in the wall. The easiest wall is between the cabinet and the bathroom. It appears hollow, just not sure if there are "studs" in the way.

I think I have a 15 amp fuse on mine, but as far as a stud in the wall I didn't think FR used any....
