Nothing surprises me on the internet anymore.
A few days ago I was looking for a new water pressure regulator, the adjustable one with the gage, and our local RV dealer beat Amazon by over 20% after I put on my sad puppy face, didn't even have to say a word .

I would like to also state that make sure you keep your black tank valve closed until it needs to be dumped. My neighbor kept his open all the time. Until he went holiday, when he came back. His bowl filled and couldn't get it to drain. I didn't know that he done that. So I thought the black tank cable came off the gate valve. So I inspected it and it was installed . The valve was operational. I found out he left the black tank valve open. So I installed a clear sewer tank flush elbow and back flushed. To get things flowing again. I explained that he must keep the black tank valve closed due to it needs water to flush out the solids. I hope that you're keeping your black tank valve closed. An opening when tank needs to be drained. Sorry for your loss.

Glad everything has worked out for you. Digest It works great and you only need 2oz after you dump. It also says that if you have a clog dump 1 qt in can let it sit for 24 hrs and it will turn everything to liquid. Also a good rule to follow is if you #1 just flush whit TP. If you go #2 fill bowl up with water before pushing valve completely open to dump the poo. This will insure enough water is used. We have used this method for 5 yrs of full timing and have no issues. As everyone has said sorry for your loss and this site does have a lot of good information.

We use a product called Unique. Add two ounces to the black and grey tank and the enzymes and bacteria eat and dissolve everything. Since we bought our new Rockwood, we refer to the black tank as our yellow tank. We use the public restrooms for the other.

There's a TP thread mentioned earlier, and I found the video from that thread very informative a few months back:
I believe the Charmin basic is what we've been using. The paper labeled "Septic Safe" seems to break down in the same way as the RV paper.
Gottawonder

Does Charmin now make an RV safe TP? Otherwise, if it's the same Charmin you use in your house, no way I'd be using it in an RV system. It's RV TP or Scotts, that's it.

guess we have been using the wrong TP for 4 years now...
Mentioned to The DW that some folks do not put TP in their RV terlet but in a waste basket by the terlet and wondered if she would like to try that, she said "if I have to do that then you need to sell the camper"

If you've been using a Charmin brand that isn't labeled RV or septic safe, and you haven't had a major blockage, I'd say you've been lucky. Using quilted TP (like Charmin) in your RV is really like rolling the dice. Now if it is RV/septic safe type, then I'd say you're good...👍

Not that I regularly peruse the TP aisle at my local grocer and read all of the labels but... I do not believe I have ever seen a package of TP that did NOT say "Septic Safe".
And along those lines, except for that one time I looked at a package of RV terlet paper at wally world (while thinking, what a crock of $h!z), I have never seen a package of regular terlet paper that says "RV Safe". I know there are a few "quick disolving" types out there that mention RV/Marine use.
just my observations, not saying it is absolute.

Test your TP 😷 . Take a small Tupperware size container fill it 3/4 with water, put 2 sheets of TP
In and put lid on, Shake hard twice. The TP should disintegrate/break down a lot, we did this test with several brands and found the "Scott big roll" to work the best. The RV brand(?) we tested was one of the worst ones, just cause it says it is doesn't mean it is RV safe. Wally World sells the flush wands for 10 bucks or so, I clean my tanks with it 3-4 times a year just for piece of mind. Later POO 😜

We have never used RV toilet paper in the camper (& never will) always used what we use at home (don't always use the same brand) ..........We are on septic at home............I guess we have just been lucky for over 30 years of camping and no blockages?????

Oaklevel, the truth is its all about water and not the TP. Like you we have a septic system and only use regular TP, in the house and in every camper we've owned. Clogging hasn't been an issue in the campers and our septic service moved us to a 2-year cleanout schedule because every year was too much.
For campers the key is to always fill the tank up with 3-5 gallons of water after adding the blue stuff (or whatever additive you use). Figure 6-10 full toilet bowls. Then, any time #2 occurs always fill the bowl up half-way. If necessary flush in the middle of use and refill the bowl again.
Water, water, water.

Two words: ANGEL SOFT Somebody put me onto this stuff when I was at the Wally Mart buying some fairly pricey (for TP) RV toilet paper. The stuff liquefies in nothing flat and we've never had any kind of blockage in the over two years we've used it exclusively. The key is to use plenty of water to flush and never, ever camp with your black tank valve open. I like to take an extra ten minutes per week to drain the black tank, close the valve, then fill it with plain water thru the tank flush and drain it again
