Vertical seam seal for shower

My first post and I think it is really a dumb question but I want to get it right. I have two shower doors that slide toward each other to close. The plastic seal on the right hand door does not stay attached to the door. Do I just add silicone and kind of glue it in place or can I get a new piece of plastic stripping, cut it to fit the height and simply slip the glass door into it?

Mine does that too. I would think some dabs of clear silicone in the part that slips on will work, going to try it.

Thanks. I am afraid if that doesn't work I'll have a mess to clean up.

Those seals are hard to find. If you go to dealer they will say you have to buy a new door, I bet a dollar to a dozen donuts. I would use a glass type silicone fill it and then push it on. You can always clean the excess off. Then let it cure before you use it. I say this as long as the seal is not distorted. Good luck, but I think that is worth a try.

You didn't specify your RV model or shower type, but I'm guessing you have a Radius Shower manufactured by LCI (Lippert).

I would give their customer service a call at (574) 537-8900.

Worth a try. What's the worst they can say?

Rather than Clear Silicone, which which is not really clear but opaque and yellows as it ages Id use a product called "Lexel".

You can find it in most Home Improvement stores.

It sticks to ANYTHING, drys absolutely Clear and is flexible as well when cured. Great stuff!!

Is there more than one type of Lexel? Just like we're discussing Silicone when it's actually RTV (Room Temperature Vulcanizing) Silicone.

Lexel is synthetic rubber elastomeric sealant.

This is what I have used. Comes in white as well. Unlike silicone , Lexel will stick to itself so no need to remove all old silicone to fix a small previously treated area.

Does this come in clear? Will it stick and seal full body paint? Thanks in advance

The attached link above is for clear. Don't know about full body paint.
