Question Vibe 308bhs electric vs propane water heater

Hello! We have a 2018 Vibe 308BHS. Been out in it 4 times so far. I'm trying to figure out how we can save on propane by using electric to heat water most of the time. Is the switch on the outside of the 308BHS for electric? Ours has never heated the water unless we spark the propane from the switch on the inside of the TT. Any guidance from other 308BHS owners would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Even if we don't own a 308BHS, we can help if you'll tell us about the water heater itself. Remove the outside door/panel and give us the model number so we can tell if it has electric heating capability. While you're there, see if you have a little black ON/OFF switch hidden behind tubes on the lower left corner.

If its a Suburban water heater, the electric switch is inside the outside in the lower left hand corner behind the tube. Just a rocker, On/Off. Use both for showers and turn off after.

If you have the dual powered (propane and electric) Suburban brand tank type water heater, then this FAQ below should get you fixed up:

Welcome to the forum its a great place to get your questions answered. the switch has been covered so I will add you need to be on generator or shore power if the electric side of the water to work. One last thing add to your camp breakdown check list "check WH switch in off position" that will keep you from burning the element when you drain the system.
