Waste tank management

I have read several threads on waste tank maintenance. Calgon and dish detergent sound very plausible and useful. I think I will begin trying those. However, I have a few questions. Does anyone know if these have any effect on the sensors? I was especially concerned about the mention of bleach, I believe it is a corrosive. Any one using these methods long term and are the really allowing you do to away with all those chemicals they sell? Thanks jtant

I have used the Calgon Dish soap combo for some time with mixed results. My biggest problem is that the combo does not address the lubrication of the gate valve. Mine had become very hard to move, so I have started using products that address that issue. As for the sensor no they do not clean them, but then I truely think nothing does.

Thanks for the reply. What products do you believe help with the gate issue? As for the sensors if someone knows something that cleans them please share but in my original post I was thinking of some combination of chemicals that might damage or destroy the sensors. Thanks again jtant
