waste valves from tanks

Has anyone changed a bad waste valve that was leaking and hard to operate? The valve on my v-lite is easy to get to and it seems easy to replace. I thought someone might have a few tricks that would make it easier. Thanks

fairly simple task ! the smell and waste dripping out would be the worse part .
make sure orings stay in place when installing new valve and don't over tighten bolts.

make sure the tanks are empty before attemtping this - I know that this is common sense but figured I would throw it out there anyways

Like stated above make sure the O-rings stay in place - a little grease helps hold them

Another thing you could do is once you have drained and cleaned the tank you could leave the valve open for a day or two so when you do go to work on it is dry and hopefully smell free
