Water capacity

I sanitized my new camper and noticed that the 44 gal tanks appears to not hold that much. I haven't checked precisely, but I only filled my 45 gal bladder tank about 2/3 full and it overflowed the fresh water tank pretty fast. I'm thinking maybe it holds less than 35, if that.

Anyone have a similar issue?

yes. Mine will hit the overflow at about the 2/3 mark. I cannot get more than 2/3 into it. Dealer says this is normal...

I am actually planning to try and re-route the overflow this spring.

Is it really a 44 gallon tank? Or is it 44 MINUS whatever the water heater holds? I think I've read that some manufacturers advertise water capacities, but include the water heater in their advertised amounts. Not sure if your RV/manufacturer does or doesn't. But, just a thought...

I also think they included the H/W tank in mine...

I had a similar issue with my 2013 Solera 24R. I was told by the factory that FR reserves the right to change specifications without notice.

You should not expect your actual tank capacities to match any written specifications or the brochure. You get what you get.

My 35 gallon fresh tank only holds 30 gallons. They just printed 350,000 brochures so they won't change the brochure until the current supply runs out.

I agree with you, but they also add the water in the H/W tank for cap. which would put you at 36 gals full. But I could be wrong wouldn't be the first time.....

As I recall, I was told in a thread here that FR does not include the water heater capacity. They go by the number stamped on the tank and in my case the supplier did not use an accurate number. FR does not test the accuracy of capacity claims by its suppliers. fwiw, it took me about 15 minutes to verify that the stated capacity was not accurate. One would think that over the life of the Solera product line that someone at FR would have tested it at least once.

I surely would not doubt that, I can only say what I was told. But I have a trend to be a sucker at times....

MY in-laws bought a brand new Hemisphere 5th that stated it had a 40 gallon tank. My brother in-law tested it out, he could only get 24 gallons. After months of arguing with dealer and FR, FR finally agreed to fix it. They are supposed to be installing a nice "big tank" for them. What that means my brother in-law is not sure but will find out when they get their 5th back from FR.
