Water filter

I will be living in my Forest River Sandpiper 355RE this winter, I noticed on the water filter it says : do not let freeze" , does any one know if you can remove the filter and use something else , something to block the hole where the water enters the filter, or is there a switch to bypass the water filter and not use it at all?
It also seems that I have good water pressure at the hose, but as soon as I have it connected too the RV, I lose about half of the water pressure, so a 5 minute shower now turns into 10 minutes, takes about 5 minutes just to fill the coffee pot with water , any advice would help
Thanks

Is the filter relatively new? If not, try swapping it out. I get charcoal replacements from a plumbing supply store for approx. $5.00 each.

Yes the water filter is new, only been in this unit 2 months now, living in the exact same place I was before, except I was in my motor home, and the water is connected in the same way, just changed units is all, but no with half the water pressure I had before
